Carboxymethylcellulose- purified sodium salt of carboxymethyl cellulose; water-soluble, anionic polymer.
Function:
Acts as a rheology modifier for improved slurry stability. Enhances binding strength and ensures homogeneous binder distribution. Provides high coating quality, generates defect-free electrodes from a water-based slurry, and enables effective electrolyte penetration for good cycle performance with a high capacity rate. It also offers superior capacity retention for cell integrity and strong rate performance for power applications.
Carboxymethylcellulose- a purified salt of sodium carboxymethylcellulose- dispersants
Function:
- Available in different viscosities and with different degrees of substitutionl
- Ensures homogenous dispersion of slurries
Low molecular weight, anionically charged, water soluble polymer from cellulose
Function:
Has high degree of substitution, ensures excellent dispersion in slurries.
Polyvinylpyrollidone- hygroscopic, amorphous, linear, non-ionic polymer.
Function:
- Suitable for use in water-based formulations for solvent-free, zero-VOC systems. Acts as an effective binder for solvent-based cathodes.
- Ensures integrity in ceramic coated separators. Functions as a dispersant for water-based anode actives, including graphite, carbon black, carbon nanotubes, and silicon-graphene, as well as for NMP-based cathode actives such as lithium iron phosphate.
Two component binder
Function:
Improves thermal stability to above 170 °C. Offers high permeability, making it suitable for higher charge rates or high-voltage applications. Utilizes a unique two-component cross-linking system
- A specialized polymer that promotes adhesion to the separator.
- A cross-linking agent that ensures thermal and mechanical stability
